
Professor Richard Faull, Professor of Anatomy and Director of the Centre for Brain Research at the University of Auckland has an international reputation for his research studies of the normal and diseased human brain. The Human Brain Bank he established to support worldwide research and his innovative research on stem cells and neurogenesis in the human brain have attracted international attention. Professor Faull, a Fellow of the Royal Society of New Zealand, an Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit (ONZM), has been awarded the Liley Medal by the Health Research Council of New Zealand and New Zealand's highest scientific award, the Rutherford Medal. In 2003 and 2007 Professor Faull was nominated by the "New Zealand Herald" as one of its "New Zealanders of the Year" and in 2010 he received the Supreme Award in the 2010 World Class New Zealand Awards.
